Lessons are private, as it’s easier to learn while receiving undivided attention. (Special arrangements can be made for friends or family members wanting to take group lessons together).

No prior experience is needed, as we will cover everything from the start.

If you do have prior experience, we will continue from wherever you are in your journey. Both beginners and intermediate players will get the opportunity to choose their personal favourite songs, and learn how to play them, as it’s easier to learn while having fun.

All our teachers are fluent in Afrikaans and English. Lessons can be presented according to your language preference.

As the goal is to keep the lessons as informal and relaxed as possible, we don’t do exams or grading.

ALL AGES ARE WELCOME!

I’m also an avid music producer, arranging, recording, mixing and mastering songs for artists.

Hi, my name is Konstant de la Porte.
I am a professional guitarist and music educator who has had the privilege of performing on stages across South Africa, Europe, and the UK.

My passion for guitar began at the age of 14, and since then, music has become both my career and lifelong pursuit. In addition to teaching, I perform as a touring guitarist for South African-born international artist Will Linley. Throughout my career, I have also worked with artists and bands including Candi Black, I Believe In Giants, Leah, Willem Botha, Franja du Plessis, Eloff, and Elandré.

I am experienced in both electric and acoustic guitar and enjoy helping students develop their skills, confidence, and passion for music. Roelof

Anzelle

At the age of 11, Roelof enrolled at RB Music School (then Rudolph Botha Guitar School) as a guitar student in 2012. Roelof’s passion for music, and particularly for the guitar, grew significantly over the following years. After becoming highly skilled on both acoustic and electric guitar while still at school, he began performing in various bands at school and in church.

Roelof started teaching guitar lessons while still in high school. After finishing school, he continued working towards completing his Rockschool Music Performance Certificates and studied Music Production and Composition during his first year after matric. He later furthered his studies at the Campus of Performing Arts (COPA).

Today, Roelof is a full-time musician and music teacher. He performs with a variety of alternative rock and metal bands, including Human Nebula, Graze Us!, and Distortion For Emphasis, while also working with Afrikaans artists such as Eloff and Wilma van Heerden.

Roelof is also making a name for himself as a producer and recording engineer and runs his own YouTube channel, where he shares various aspects of his musical journey and creative process. In addition to guitar, Roelof teaches ukulele and music production.

He enjoys working with people, and his outgoing yet humble personality helps students feel comfortable, motivated, and excited to learn.

I started singing at the age of nine and received professional vocal coaching for more than twelve years. Throughout my school years, I competed in numerous singing competitions, a journey that naturally led me into professional artist development at eighteen. A year later, I signed with Universal Music South Africa as an Afrikaans singer and songwriter.

Since then, I have released several successful singles, including Klein Botteltjie Groot Gif, Lawaaiwater, Slegte Invloed, and Tussen die Wolke.

In an exciting new chapter of my musical journey, I have also officially joined the incredible group Rooksein, and I am so proud to be part of their lineup.

With years of intensive vocal training, extensive stage experience, and a genuine love for the craft, I now offer professional singing coaching. My goal is to help upcoming vocalists build their confidence, refine their technique, and truly grow as artists.

Stiaan

I started playing guitar after high school, and quickly fell in love with the instrument.

After school, I studied to become a school teacher. Thereafter, I worked as a teacher at Laerskool Kalie de Haas in Standerton, teaching both academic, and music subjects. After a few years, I decided that music is my main passion, so I packed up my things and headed to the city.

I started playing live shows, both in the secular industry, as well as in church. Soon after that, I started offering guitar lessons, as I have a passion for both music, and teaching. I give lessons on acoustic and electric guitar.

I am currently the lead guitar player for Afrikaans chart topping artist Robbie Wessels, playing shows all over the country. I have also worked with artists like Chris Steyn, Dodo Nyoka, Niel Somers, Franja du Plessis and Leah.

I love seeing how students progress and learn new skills on the guitar, as well as observing the enjoyment that guitar can bring.

Stiaan has been playing guitar since the age of 15, and joined Rudolph Botha Guitar School early 2013. He's been part of rock bands like Wicked Stixx, Them Dirty Shrikes, Skinee Sunrise, and also performs on his own. Furthermore, Stiaan has also been in various worship bands, and runs his own home studio, where he hosts his guitar lessons as well. Stiaan is a highly skilled beginner and intermediate guitar teacher, and has taught many children and adults.

Tim

My love for music and my musical journey began in childhood. I studied music theory from primary school through high school and into university. In 2019, I completed the Unisa Grade 5 Music Theory exam as well as the practical exam in drums. I am currently finalising my BMus degree at Unisa.

Over the years, I’ve performed as the drummer for bands such as Distortion for Emphasis and Ozias.

Music has enriched my life in countless ways: it has shaped my career, strengthened my academic path, and enhanced my social skills. I believe everyone should have the chance to study and experience music. Through my studies in music psychology, I’ve come to understand that musicking is an inherent human ability, meaning anyone can start at any age or skill level.

I teach drums and music theory, with a strong emphasis on creating a safe and supportive learning space for people of all backgrounds, including those with disabilities and neurodivergent learners. My teaching environment is open, respectful, and affirming of every student’s identity.

I am fluent in both English and Afrikaans.

My name is Timothy James Lotter. At 29 years old, I bring over 15 years of live performance experience and 9 years of teaching guitar and bass. I began playing guitar at the age of 10 and started performing professionally at just 12 years old.

As a professional session guitarist and bassist, I have had the privilege of working with prominent artists including Zaan Sonnekus, Kurt Darren, Dodo Nyoka, and Tamlyn Wessels. Throughout my career, I have toured nationally and performed on some of South Africa’s biggest festival stages.

I am also a member of Human Nebula, whose achievements include winning the South African Metal Music Award for Best EP in 2018 and the Wacken Metal Battle Africa 2026.

My teaching approach focuses on developing strong fundamentals, musicality, technique, and confidence while helping each student achieve their own unique goals as a musician.

Duan

S.J.

Hi, I’m Duan Denner.

I’m a classically trained guitarist with an eclectic taste in music and a deep passion for teaching a wide variety of styles. I take great pride in tailoring my lessons to what each individual student truly wants to play.

Growing up, I competed in multiple prestigious eisteddfods, including SATCH and ATKV, and was named the overall winner of the Pretoria Eisteddfod in 2019. Alongside my competitive background, I completed my ABRSM Grade 8 in guitar and UNISA Grade 7 in music theory.

About 10 years ago, I shifted my focus toward acoustic and electric guitar under the guidance of Rudolph. Today, alongside teaching, I am the active guitarist for the prominent South African artist Demarie.

I offer comprehensive lessons in acoustic and electric guitar, as well as music theory.

Hi, my name is S.J. Coetzee.

I started my musical journey at the tender age of 8 as a classical pianist. While I fell in love with music immediately, I wanted to explore other styles and genres. This curiosity ultimately led me to study at COPA SA, where I dual-majored in guitar and bass.

During my time there, I began performing with bands such as Honour Amongst Rebels, Stand.58, and Last Life. I have a deep passion for all musical styles and thoroughly enjoy teaching them across electric and acoustic guitar, as well as bass.

For the past 5 years, I have been working as a full-time music teacher. I offer tailored lessons in guitar, bass, piano, keyboard, and ukulele.

I look forward to meeting you and embarking on this musical journey together!
